A colony of Goliath Herons inhabits Samatian Island's southern point. Unusual birds are often sighted, including the Purple Swamp Hen, Long-toed Lapwing, Spoonbills, Night Herons and Water Thick-knees. It is not unusual to come back to camp having sighted over 50 species of birds in an afternoon of bird watching around Baringo. We have various professional bird guides available to guests and a bird walk to the Cliffs is a must for keen birders. Bird lists of Samatian Island, Roberts Camp or Lake Baringo are available.
